Honorary Professor at at Universidad Complutense of Madrid (UCM ) and Associate Researcher at Institute de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT). He received the Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Paris VI , France in 1978, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Universidad del Pais Vasco, Spain in 1981. From  1976 to 1989 he has been full time associate professor of computer science, and  artificial intelligence in several Spanish universities. In October 1989 he joined Telefonica I+D where he was responsible for R&D project lines covering  innovative Telecom Services, service engineering methodology, and advanced techniques for service and Network management until September 2008. In May 2009 he joined the SMAC group at IRIT, and the GRASIA group in January 2010 , where he collaborates as a senior researcher. His research interests include Architectural patterns and tools for Multi-Agent Systems, Agent´s Team Organization models, tools and applications, and distributed system development based on organizational paradigms.
