Received his degree and PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 1982 and 2013 respectively. He has worked for the as Assistant Professor in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM); as Systems Analyst, Team/Project Leader and Software Process Improvement Manager in Alcatel-Lucent; as Chief Information and Technology Officer (CIO/CTO) in Cuántalis Europa; as Consultant in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Alten Spain; and as Senior Researcher and Business Director in Telcaria Ideas SL. His main background is in Software Engineering, OAM Software for telecommunications equipment, Software Process Improvement (SPI), Telecommunications Management Networks (TMN), and Telecom Services Quality modelling and estimation. His current areas of research and interest include Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
