Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) is an emerging topic in the agenda of the European Commission. It reconsiders the role of science and innovation in society and is an integral issue of research actions like those in the framework programme Horizon 2020. But, what are we talking about when we use the term RRI? Which role could we, the different actors of the science and innovation systems, have? How can we put into practice RRI?

The European project FoTRRIS ( http://fotrris-h2020.eu/ ) pursues reflecting on RRI and developing techniques that allow taking its principles to the different aspects and domains of research. In this context, the RRI Workshop on Women and Disability took place on March 23 and 24, 2017, at the Computer Science School ( Facultad de Informática ) de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain).

The workshop addressed the research lines that appear in this context when considering women with functional diversity,  a group that frequently suffers the oblivion of society in its double condition of women and people with different capacities. Stakeholders from different groups living, working, and researching in this domain joined and worked together in the workshop.

The magazine InfoActualidad has reported on the workshop.
